How Coinadrink’s operators maintain impeccable hygiene standards in the workplace.

You may have read our recent blog post detailing all the steps our staff take to enforce good hygiene in the workplace, both in-house and on customer premises. But in such a fast paced and demanding industry, how do we maintain such high hygiene standards?

Courtesy of “The Coinadrink Way”, of course. This is subject to three key elements. Regular, comprehensive machine audits, innovative real time software and a certain committed individual who keeps everything ticking along nicely.

It’s not unusual for Coinadrink employees to have worked with us for years, if not decades. And one of our long serving team members is Caroline Richards, who has been with us for over 25 years now.

Caroline knows Coinadrink like the back of her hand, which means she understands the importance of exceptional vending machine hygiene and how much we prioritise it. Caroline is the one who oversees the training our operators receive when they first join us, offering a friendly line of help and support when needed.

So, whilst many of our competitors use “off the shelf” hygiene measures that merely comply with the bare minimum, all of our operators learn what is needed to go the extra mile. This includes our unique kit change procedure, whereby we sanitise all contact parts of your machine in-house to ensure they remain clean and safe to use.

Caroline is key to instilling the traditional “Coinadrink DNA” into new starters. In fact, for the first few weeks she’s pretty much the only person they get to see!

How we continuously improve in hygiene standards.

Once Caroline is confident an operator has been trained to the level we expect, its then her job to ensure those hygiene standards don’t slip.

Each operator is subject to quarterly assessments, and Caroline accepts no excuses. Her individual criteria are extremely high in order to pass the assessments: 95%!

Tough, for sure, but we wouldn’t have her any other way. It’s how we know our customers are receiving the very best service.

Each assessment is broken down into four stages. The first three are carried out by Caroline individually, going through each area of the vending machine to ensure the correct procedures have been followed as per the training plan. This will include cleaning the machine appropriately. The fourth and final assessment is an observation, with Caroline monitoring the operator carrying out their role.

After the assessment Caroline will sit down with the operator and discuss the outcome. Any areas for improvement are clearly explained, with training plans suggested if necessary.

Helped courtesy of software feeding real time data back to us.

Also analysed are any “CIPs” that have been built up since the last assessment. CIP stands for ‘Continuous Improvement of Performance”.

If an operator has made an error when maintaining a customers’ machine, a report gets fed back to the office in real time for us to act on it. The operator will be kept informed, and it may be that they or someone else is required to go back to the customer premises to resolve the issue.

This makes sure we are notified of any potential problems before we are alerted to them by the customer, allowing us to remain pro-active.

Through CIPs and the wonder that is Caroline Richards, our hygiene measures consistently lead the way when compared to the competition. We simply aren’t allowed to rest on our laurels.

Backed up with the widely recognised ISO stamp.

For those who keep a close eye on our blog and social media platforms, you’ll know that we are proudly ISO 45001 accredited for occupational health and safety.

These ISO audits happen annually, so it’s not as if we can “down tools” here either. Our bespoke hygiene standards are one of the key reasons why we were awarded with such a prestigious accreditation, and we’re not about to give it up.

This is another reason why Coinadrink Limited is a vending supplier you can trust. Now more than ever.

More than just a tap. These are Billi Taps.

Upgrade your workplace in the most sophisticated way possible with a Billi Tap. Billi Taps will revolutionise how your employees stay hydrated and refreshed in the workplace, with stunning designs and advanced technology that you need to see to believe. This is more than just your average tap. These are Billi Taps. Enjoy yours from Coinadrink Limited, a premium vending supplier.

Boiled water. Without the kettle.

Did you know that we wait an average of 12 minutes every week just waiting for the kettle to boil? That equates to over 10 hours a year, or in other words, plenty of lost work time. This is the issue with the traditional “tea run”.

Billi Taps make waiting around a thing of the past. Boiling water is delivered at a touch of button, as if by magic, from a design that is far from what you recognise it as. Billi Taps achieve this by heating water stored in under-counter water tanks, so they’re ready when you are.

This is convenient to say the least when you require a hot drink at work.

And you don’t need us to remind you of just how much this is a common occurrence. Tea will always be a key part of British culture no matter the environment, but coffee consumption in the workplace has soared in recent years.

The UK is one of five European nations to massively contribute to a boom in office coffee consumption in recent years. Together, we represent a whopping 72% of the £3.1bn value!

Billi Taps instant delivery of clean boiling water will be equally as valuable for British office workers.

Cold, chilled and sparkling in addition.

Billi Taps can dispense boiling, ambient and cold water at the touch of a button.Billi Taps can also dispense cold, chilled and even sparkling water. This also makes them a stylish hydration source for your employees. Yet another necessity.
Recently, it came to light that up to a third of workers said dehydration noticeably affects their productivity level. This makes complete sense, of course. Dehydration can cause fatigue, headaches, whilst making us more susceptible to illness. This is not what you want in the workplace.

Billi Tap acts as your “all in one” source of refreshment. Beautifully filtered water is distributed as and when you require, with unique technology keeping the water deliciously cool.

As for sparkling water, Billi Taps ensure of just the right amount of CO2, with a certain volume required for the right taste. This is important when you hear that up to a third of workers would like access to sparkling water in the workplace.

Cold, chilled and sparkling Billi Taps also utilise under-counter storage tanks, some of the smallest and advanced in the industry.

Safe, energy efficient taps conscious of their surroundings.

The ability to dispense boiling water on demand may concern you. What happens if you accidentally catch Billi Tap with your arm or mug? You needn’t worry.

Billi, Safe and energy efficient, Billi Taps can be tailored to suit your taste. Taps with boiling water options are equipped with a safety switch that automatically engages after 8 seconds of inactivity. Billi Taps will not dispense a drop with this enabled, providing complete assurance and peace of mind.

And with equally clever standby and eco modes, Billi Taps are also energy efficient. The under-counter water tanks draw very little power, and if Billi Tap is delivering cold water then the energy used to heat up the water is recycled for future use. Nothing gets wasted.

You can compare how much energy you could save with a Billi Tap on our website. Check it out.

Of course, the under-counter water tank leaves plenty of surface space. Billi Taps are neatly designed to leave a grand impression. But whilst they may look like ordinary taps, we have already established that they are anything but.

Tailored to suit.

You have a keen eye for design. And so do Billi Taps. A standard chrome finish is gorgeous, but if you want to emphasise that Billi Tap is far from a normal tap then you can take advantage of other variants including matte black, red, gold and blue.

The choice is yours.

Billi Taps are the revolutionary way to keep your workforce refreshed and hydrated, so bring your workplace into the 21st century and start enjoying the benefits today! Contact us…

How Coinadrink is one step ahead with hygiene in the workplace…

As COVID-19 continues to accelerate, it has left the entire globe feeling vulnerable, uncertain and scared. But whilst we should all be taking the threat of the virus seriously, here at Coinadrink we are confident that we are in a good place as we all try to minimise the spread. We take many steps to ensure of good hygiene in the workplace.

Because whilst many other companies are merely reacting to COVID-19 with new policies and procedures, our hygiene standards are already engrained deeply within our DNA. This is important for any company, but especially for those sitting in the food and beverage industry. Like us.

We believe that having a strong working practise in place puts you in a strong position for the future. And in many ways, it is our traditional pledge to deliver first-class customer service that has widened the opportunity for our hygiene practices to become so advanced. Of course, COVID-19 will make us take a deeper look into our practises to see if there are further improvements to make for the future. But we are starting from a strong and established foundation of best practise.

As part of our operated service for our floorstanding hot drinks machines, our operators are trained to Coinadrink’s own high standards in cleaning, replenishing and servicing your equipment. Each operator benefits from our 58 years’ experience, and our training plans are also flexible as so to conform to industry wide legislation.

It’s a healthy mix of both nationally recognised standards and bespoke practices.

Our on-site sanitisation procedure.

You rely on your hot drinks machine to see you through your day.

So, when our operator visits your site as part of a regular service plan tailored to suit your requirements, rest assured, your equipment is subject to a tried and tested cleaning process that ensures it remains safe to use.

Want to know more? Click here to read the detailed steps our operators take when on customer premises.

Our in-house sanitisation procedure.

And unlike our competitors, we take all contact parts of your machine back to our own premises for thorough sanitisation. We simply don’t believe a deep clean can be achieved any other way, and we don’t intend to take any chances when it comes to hygiene in the workplace.

Contact parts that aren’t rigorously cleaned will significantly affect the quality of your drink, as well as potentially being damaging to your health. Our sanitisation process further limits the risk of COVID-19 being spread.

Back on site, the contact parts of your machine are subject to some “TLC” from our kitchen staff. This forms part of a detailed 18, yes 18, step plan that both they and our operators must abide to. If you want to read every one of those stages, you can do so here.

Of course, you may be wondering how you can continue to use your machine once these parts have been whisked away. You needn’t worry. We replace your parts with a new pack that has already been sanitised, so the only downtime you’ll be subject to is the half an hour or so that our operator is on your premises.

This is very much a deliberate cycle that ensures you always enjoy the most hygienic experience from your hot drinks machine.

Clean and care that extends across our other services.

We’re an advanced vending and refreshment supplier that is proud to offer a wide range of services. And all of them receive the same level of commitment to hygiene in the workplace. Of course, and somewhat naturally, some of those services require more emphasis than others.

Our water dispensers, for example, are also subject to strict procedures. Before we even site them for our customers, our in-house team sanitise the pipes with odourless cleaning solution to ensure they are safe to be used. We then carry out a stringent sanitisation process when we visit site.

You can find that here.

Along with advanced technology hidden within the equipment to ensure there is no build-up of bacteria or other nasties, this makes sure your water will remain cool, clear and fresh.

Of course, all customers receive key training and information upon installation of their equipment and are invited to contact us if they ever require assistance.

Transparent parts with nothing to hide.

As part of our culture, we believe in complete transparency in everything we do. If something could look suspicious, it probably is, and that’s the last message we want to risk implying when it comes to hygiene in the workplace.

So forth, the pipes in your hot drinks machine are clear, so you know exactly what our operators are feeding into your machine. It also helps them identify whether parts need replacing. We have nothing to hide, and believe that when information is shared openly, we help shape a “family-feel” culture that brings our business and customers together as one.

A vending supplier that prioritises hygiene in the workplace.

If you want to read our recent blog post regarding Coinadrink Limited being one of the first UK companies to be ISO 45001 accredited for occupational health and safety, you can do so here.

We also plan on rolling out more blog posts in the near future detailing other areas we remain pro-active as the world comes together to battle COVID-19. This includes our five-star food safety rating and our industry leading auditing procedure that ensures our operators never rest on their laurels.

In what is uncertain times for everyone, Coinadrink Limited is a vending supplier you have always been able to trust. Now more than ever.

Whilst our competitors may baulk in the face of constant questioning regarding their hygiene in the workplace procedures, we welcome them, and invite you to contact us on 01922 640777 or at general@coinadrink.co.uk if you want to know anything else.

Coinadrink Limited: One of the first UK companies to achieve the ISO 45001 accreditation for health and safety!

As the scary situation regarding COVID-19 continues to escalate, health and safety is now of paramount importance for us all, even if it wasn’t already. We all need to take extra care at home, in the workplace and whilst we are out and about.

Coinadrink Limited has always been pro-active, not reactive, in this field, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the workplace for the peace of mind of our staff and customers. And we hold the ISO 45001 accreditation to prove it.

What is ISO 45001?

You won’t be alone in asking this, we’re sure. ISO stands for International Organisation for Standardisation. International Standards cover a wide range of sectors including quality, safety and efficiency and are instrumental in facilitating international trade.

ISO 45001 is the accreditation for occupational health and safety, or health and safety in the workplace to put it another way. It builds on the success of earlier international standards in this field including OHSAS 18001. The accreditation is awarded to organisations who display real commitment in improving employee safety and reducing workplace risks. This includes, but is not limited to, creating a culture whereby staff understand the importance of health and safety and are able to become pro-active as individuals.

You will spend around 90,000 hours of your life at work. A startling statistic we know, and one that captures the scale of the importance surrounding safer working conditions. Despite this, the International Labour Organisation have reported that more than 7000 workers die from work-related accidents or diseases every single day. By holding the ISO 45001 accreditation, we are playing our part in saving nearly 3 million lives every single year!

Now if that doesn’t magnify the effectiveness of ISO 45001, we’re not quite sure what will…

What does this mean for Coinadrink, and for you?

Having a snack machine installed brings lots of benefits to your business!Coinadrink was one of the first UK companies to achieve the ISO 45001 accreditation, meaning we were one of the first UK companies to conform to the world class specification that is required. We also hold the ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations for quality and the environment respectively, as well as having a 5 star food hygiene rating!

The ISO 45001 accreditation is a risk-based approach that is flexible enough to fit in with a companies’ industry and context. So, as an example, one of the areas we had to focus on prior to being awarded with the accreditation was hygiene. This is always reassuring for our staff and customers, and never more so than now.

COVID-19 has naturally concerned absolutely everyone on the planet. Our customers have asked us lots of questions regarding the steps we take to ensure of good hygiene not only on our own premises, but on theirs, too. As mentioned in the introduction to this post, we have always been pro-active in this field.

The steps we take are deliberate as so to keep you, your customers and our own staff safe. We are also extremely proud to say that we typically do much, much more than our competition. During a time of worry and uncertainty, we will be sharing with you a series of blog posts outlining everything we do that is included in our approach. Because you can never do too much in the face of health and safety.

Let’s start with Cadbury’s creme egg hot chocolate…

To start you off you will need the following ingredients: 1 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 5 creme eggs, chopped and ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream.

Now you have all of this, in a medium saucepan, heat the milk until its hot but ensure it doesn’t boil. Then, whisk in 2 tablespoons of sugar, cocoa powder, salt, the creme eggs and heat until the chocolate melts. Following this, whisk until everything is smooth and pour into a mug.

Once this is complete, in a large bowl beat together the whipping cream until it thickens and gradually add in the remaining 1 teaspoon sugar. Beat this until it is thick and stiff peaks form. Finally, pipe this on top of the hot chocolate. Doesn’t this sound scrumptious? If you are looking for an alternative, Nutella should do the trick!

After, add the Nutella spread, cocoa powder and sugar and whisk until it is fully combined. Lastly, bring to a gentle simmer while stirring, take off the heat and serve with your preferred toppings.

The revolutionary Klix Eco Cup that’s set to shake up the vending industry forever.

Brace yourself, because the new decade has seen a revolutionary breakthrough within the vending industry. Lavazza has started the ball rolling in making today’s coffee cups more sustainable, focusing specifically on the Klix in-cup.

The Eco Cup is the first in-cup coffee cup to be completely recyclable with normal paper waste. And it’s coming to all Klix machines from February 2020…

This is very exciting news for the vending industry and what it means for our environment. Right now, there are some staggering statistics that convey the problem Lavazza are hoping to help fix with the Eco Cup.

The UK throws away 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups every year, yet only 0.25% of these are recycled. But how can this be? You may think your paper coffee cup can be recycled, but a key material that is used in its production actually makes it near impossible.

Problematic Polyethylene.

They say the devil is in the detail. And that’s certainly the case here. Within your coffee cup hides a thin layer of plastic, known as polyethylene.

Whilst you may not have even been aware of its existence, polyethylene is the reason why your cup remains heat and leak proof. But whilst this works well for your hands, it’s a literal nightmare for our planet.

You see, today’s coffee cup requires specialist recycling facilities able to separate the polyethylene from the paper. And right now, there are only a small number of them in the UK.

So how is Eco Cup different?

Eco Cup throws away, if you’d pardon the pun, the need for polyethylene and is the result of years of research and development.

Instead, Eco Cup is unique in that it utilises a special patented water-based dispersion barrier board by Kotkamills that enables the cups to recycled with paper waste, such as office paper.

The paper is sourced sustainably managed forests, accredited by PEFC, and can be recycled into paper waste up to seven times. This guarantees a low environmental impact.

And even if Eco Cup is incorrectly disposed of, its biodegradable nature ensures it will cause the environment no harm.

In fact, a study from Lavazza suggests that switching to Eco Cup from a standard coffee cup can lead to a reduction in environmental footprint of over 63%.

With Eco Cup, Lavazza have demonstrated a pro-active nature in developing a sustainable vending solution for the workplace.

This is a vital leap forward in the reduction of used cups being sent to landfill.

Are there any other changes I should know about?

None whatsoever, which makes Eco Cup even more impressive in that it still acts and works like any other coffee cup.

For now, it will only be available with a select few Klix beverages. These are Lipton Tea, Nescafe Gold Blend white with or without sugar and Nescafe Gold Blend white decaf with or without sugar.

More beverages vended with this revolutionary cup will be added throughout the year.

Eco Cup makes Klix even more appealing.

Klix a great way to keep your workforce refreshed with hot and cold drinks, particularly if you have a higher volume of staff or are in the manufacturing industry.

Klix offers the fastest dispense time in the industry at just 17 seconds. This is thanks in part to in-cup ingredients, which ensure of consistent quality.

It also offers a wide range of beverages from big brands including Nescafe, PG and Starburst and industry leading reliability means Klix is a machine you can rely on.

With Eco Cup, the benefits of Klix only increase. Contact us today to start enjoy Klix and Eco Cup in your workplace!

How important is workplace wellbeing to you?

It’s a question you need to ask yourself. Your employees are the heartbeat of your business and without them you’d be nothing. You rely on them to do their jobs to the best of their ability. You need them to do their jobs to the best of their ability. But with 59% of workers saying they’re stressed in the workplace, are you doing enough to take care of their wellbeing? Coinadrink can help.

What’s all this about?

Arguably not. It’s all too easy for your staff to hide their struggle behind a smile and hard work. But hard work doesn’t mean they’re happy or productive in their role. Far from it. On average, we will all spend around 90,000 hours of our lives at work. So needless to say, it’s vital that you ensure the workplace is a positive place for your employees to spend their time.

It also makes sense to tie any wellbeing strategies in with your workplace. And if you don’t have any, that needs to change. We’re in 2020 now and workplace wellbeing is more important than ever. The cost of an unhealthy workforce is expected to cost the taxpayer £60 billion a year. You may associate health with illness and fitness, but it’s much more than that. There’s no getting around the fact that poor wellbeing more than contributes to that £60 billion bill.

How do I solve the problem?

It may seem a minefield, but chances are you’re overthinking the situation. You don’t need to be calling in any health and wellbeing professionals here. Ensuring your staff are working in a comfortable environment can be a great start.

Break out areas would be a simple addition. And we mean proper break out areas, because allowing your staff to check their messages or social media at their desks doesn’t quite cover it. On average, we spend around 7 hours of our working day at our desks. That’s 7 hours of being surrounded by the very things that are causing our stress. Emails. Paperwork. That sort of thing.

They need to escape. Allowing your employees to take time out not only recharges the mind and body, but it also builds stronger working relationships with colleagues. It’s amazing what you can find out about each other when you’re chatting about personal, rather than working, lives. This is another benefit of keeping staff together, rather than forcing them off site and running the risk of them going over their allotted break time.

It also helps to provide your staff with things they’d like. Again, this doesn’t need to anything too lavish or costly. In a recent survey 71% of office workers said that having high quality tea and coffee available improves their working day. And whilst stylish and technologically advanced with fresh coffee beans and fresh milk, vending and coffee machines can still be cost-effective.

And then there’s water dispensers. Over a third of office workers say not drinking enough water damages productivity, so that speaks for itself. Everyone knows hydration is important for our health, but now it’s clear to see its importance on wellbeing and productivity, too.

Meanwhile, other avenues to explore are offering flexible working and redesigning your office so that it’s light, airy and open plan. You can read more about this here, but there are so many things you can do to ensure of a happy and healthy workforce!

How important is workplace wellbeing to you?

There’s a reason why we’re signing this article off with the heading that started it. Because now you have the information, it’s time to decide what you’re going to do with it. Coinadrink can’t force you to make the changes your staff desire but believe us when we say we can help.

So, how important is workplace wellbeing to you?

Telford and Wrekin Council install fresh milk vending machine with the help of Coinadrink!

Telford and Wrekin Council have had a fresh milk vending machine installed in their two town centre buildings. This was fitted by Taylor’s Farm in an effort to ditch single-use plastic. In similar fashion to a project we worked on last year, Coinadrink provided the “fresh food” machine that we adapted to dispense the glass bottles required.

A background to the fresh milk vending machine…

Prior to the fresh milk vending machine being installed, Telford and Wrekin Council estimated that there were around 150 single-use plastic bottles filling staff fridges at any one time. This encouraged waste and a solution needed to be found.

Only last summer the council committed to replacing single-use plastics from its operations with more sustainable alternatives by 2023.

The milk vending machine enables staff to purchase a reusable glass bottle and refill this with either whole or semi-skimmed milk using the facility provided by Taylor’s Farm. This will benefit a high volume of staff in a high volume of shared offices, meaning the opportunity to reduce waste is massive for the council and its employees.

Meanwhile, the machine dispensing the glass bottles was proudly supplied by Coinadrink. We collaborated with Taylor’s Farm to come up with a solution for Telford and Wrekin Council, and soon realised that the best option was the Crane Shopper 2 carousel machine.

We successfully managed to create a solution to stop the glass bottles from rolling around and breaking when the machine was in use. Our in-house team soon installed the machine and we provided extensive training, so the council were able to use it effectively.

And this isn’t the first time we have got on board with such a sustainable project…

A fresh milk case of Deja Vu…

Cast your mind back to January 2019. Shared on the BBC, H W Chatham & Co Farm in Brockton, Shropshire installed a fresh milk facility! Once again, we were proud to assist with the project using the Crane Shopper 2 carousel machine.

You can read more about that story here.

Coinadrink is always happy to help with sustainable projects as and where we can. And with demand for fresh milk vending machines growing, who’s to say this won’t be the last time we provide our assistance?

Low sugar McVities biscuits with the same great taste?

We all love biscuits, don’t we? In fact, a recent blog post on our online shop revealed that 99 of every 100 UK households purchase them every week. But whilst biscuits are close to our hearts, the high sugar contents mean they remain very much a guilty pleasure. Pladis, the global snacking company behind McVities, are now trying to rewrite that narrative, and many of their popular biscuits have received a sugar reduction by up to 10%! This is what it means for Coinadrink and Express Refreshments.

A big change for McVities biscuits.

We’d like to bet that you absolutely adore McVities biscuits, because who doesn’t? A recent study from YouGov carried out last year found Chocolate Digestives to be the UK’s most popular biscuit, whilst the McVities brand are within the top 5 purchased on our shores.

Needless to say, a brand that is at the forefront of the industry must keep on top of growing trends. And healthier eating is arguably one of the biggest.

Put simply, sugar is a nutritional devil that many companies can no longer shy away from. You could say sugar is what fat was 20 years ago. This year, two thirds of Europeans say they are looking to reduce their sugar intake, so this big change from Pladis has come at the right time.

In what is a breakthrough in sugar reduction, they have reduced the sugar content by up to 10% in nine of their most popular biscuit varieties, as part of a lengthy project to make their products healthier.

The reformulated biscuits include McVitie’s Original Digestives, McVitie’s Rich Tea, McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives (Milk and Dark), McVitie’s Original Hobnobs, McVitie’s Chocolate Hobnobs (Milk and Dark), McVitie’s Caramel Digestives and McVitie’s Ginger Nuts. These make up over 50% of all McVitie’s sales in the UK.

McVitie’s Original Digestives were already one of the lowest-sugar biscuits available and well below Public Health England’s target of 26.2g of sugar per 100g. However, they now contain just 15.1g of sugar per 100g.

Meanwhile, McVitie’s Rich Tea biscuits now contain just 18.5g of sugar per 100g, their Original Hobnobs now contain 22.9g of sugar per 100g and McVitie’s Milk Chocolate Digestives now contain 28.5g sugar per 100g.

Same great taste. No, really!

You could be forgiven for arguing it’s impossible for a product to taste “the same” if you reduce the sugar content. But you’d be surprised at the lengths Pladis have gone to here.

The new recipes have been achieved through a careful re-balancing of ingredients to reduce sugar and salt, in order to get below, or as close to, Public Health England’s target as possible while maintaining McVitie’s distinctive taste.

Pladis’ Research and Development team tested the change with hundreds of consumers, including a group of self-confessed McVitie’s superfans, to ensure that the reduction in sugar could not be spotted.

They even made sure the biscuits tasted exactly the same when dunked in a cup of tea and used a ‘mechanical dunking arm’ in the laboratory to record the time to break when dunked! Seeing as up to a fifth of people like to dunk their biscuits, this is big news.

Enjoy low sugar McVities biscuits today!

Keep an eye out for lower sugar McVities today. You will be able to enjoy lower sugar McVities products in your Micro Market, and we regularly interchange what’s available as so to provide you with more choice. Next time you see them, give them a try!

What are your thoughts on new lower sugar McVities? Are you excited? Apprehensive? Comment below and share your thoughts!

Hot drinks recipes to keep you going throughout Easter!

In need of some ideas for Easter? We have got you covered. Check out how to make a Cadbury’s creme egg hot chocolate, Nutella hot chocolate and a Cadbury’s mini egg milkshake! These three delicious beverages will leave you begging for more. Keep reading for some hot drinks recipes this Easter!

Silky smooth Nutella for you and your beverage!

To make a Nutella hot chocolate you will need; 4 cups of low fat/skim milk, 2 tablespoons of Nutella, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Some optional toppings you could incorporate are; marshmallows, crushed hazelnuts, chocolate chips and maybe even some extra Nutella!

The process is simple! You will need to heat up the milk in a medium sized saucepan on medium-high heat until it begins to steam. After, add the Nutella spread, cocoa powder and sugar and whisk until it is fully combined. Lastly, bring to a gentle simmer while stirring, take off the heat and serve with your preferred toppings.

One more hot drinks recipe! Check out this Cadburys Mini Egg Milkshake recipe…

For this beverage you will need; 180 g (1½ cup) of Cadburys Mini Eggs, 400 ml (1½ cup) of milk, 600 ml (6 big scoops) of vanilla ice cream, 250 ml (1 cup) of double cream and 1 teaspoon of hot chocolate powder. Now you have all of this let’s get onto making it!

Whip the cream until there are soft peaks on the mix then put the Mini Eggs and milk in the blender and blend until the mini eggs are finely chopped. Afterwards, add the ice cream, then blend, until you have a thick, creamy milkshake consistency. Finally, pour into glasses and pipe on the cream. Dust it lightly with hot chocolate powder and add the mini eggs and a straw.
